On February 9–10, 2026, Thermagy welcomed partners of the European STARTREC project to its facilities in Broek op Langedijk, the Netherlands, for a key consortium meeting focused on advancing next-generation thermoelectric technologies.

The two-day session brought together project partners to review technical progress, address ongoing challenges, and align on the next phases of development.

One of the highlights of the meeting was a guided tour of Thermagy’s production facilities. Partners were given a visit of the manufacturing processes behind thermoelectric modules, offering valuable insights into the transition from material development to industrial implementation.

STARTREC explores the potential of thermoelectric conversion in three key areas: industrial waste heat recovery, efficiency optimization of domestic pellet boiler systems, and space applications requiring reliable and maintenance-free power generation. By operating at high temperatures, Thermoelectric conversion technologies open new opportunities to improve energy efficiency and enable energy generation in environments where conventional systems fall short.

Over the course of the year, testings in relevant operational environments will be conducted to validate system performance and support the progression toward higher Technology Readiness Levels (TRL).

Thermagy’s contribution builds on its expertise in solid-state energy conversion, supporting the development of robust, maintenance-free solutions suited for demanding and off-grid applications.
